Job Description

Overview of position:

TUJ seeks a motivated and outgoing admissions counselor for the domestic Japanese market to support university recruiting and advising prospective students. The admissions counselor will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting with a focus on international schools and DoDEA schools nationwide. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and sales and/or marketing experience. Although previous experience in the education sector is preferred, it is not essential. Some weekend work and travel will be required.

 

Childcare cover:

This post is fixed term from January 2020 until the end of December, 2020. The position may be extended until the end of January 2021, depending on the return of the post-holder.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  •    Prepare and give presentations about TUJ to prospective students, parents, school counselors, academic institutions, and other entities.
  •   Visit international schools and DoDEA schools to establish relationships with them.
  •   Participate in university/education fairs to promote TUJ academic programs to prospective students, parents and school counselors.
  •    Provide individual counseling, campus tours, and follow-up for prospective students, parents and school counselors.
  •    Follow up with prospective students and advise on admissions procedures.
  •    Organize open campus events, class observation events, and other special events with other team members.
  •    Give presentations about TUJ at open campus events at least once a month on Sundays.
  •    Organize visits of high school student groups and communicate with professors to make arrangements for class observations.
  • Plan and implement marketing strategies for international and DoDEA schools.

Visa Status No permission to work in Japan required

Required Skills

  •    Fluent or native-level English speaker with business-level Japanese skills (speaking/reading/writing)
  •    Excellent communication skills
  •    Excellent PC skills (Database, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  •    Work experience in sales and marketing is strongly recommended
  •    Working knowledge of CRM systems
  •    Professional and customer focused
  •    Study experience in English speaking higher education institution(s) is preferred
  •    Work experience in an area related to education or study abroad is a plus
