Job Description


  • Perform the role of a COMMSMEDIA Consulting, Senior Consultant in Japan (Associate Director-Consulting)
  • Engage directly with COMMSMEDIA clients on their most important and challenging business and technology issues - addressing and solving their priority problems
  • Develop and implement strategies (process framework and methodology) for improving business processes, practices and operating models
  • Draw on Cognizant’s unique capabilities in Digital Strategy, AI & Analytics, Interactive and Digital Operations, and experience from our global consulting network
  • Work with clients to ensure projects meet the needs of the customer and business and are aligned to the overall business strategy; manage key delivery risks
  • Define and drive ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ process/operating model discussions
  • Support project team in constructing the business case and benefits realization plan, specifically analyzing the proposed solution to deliver the desired business outcome and associated project costs
  • Provide client-centric consulting solutions; coaching and guiding senior client stakeholders on complex technology-related business issues and providing expert guidance in technology and architectural decisions
  • Support account executives to shape large deals / pursuits and to present solutions / proposals to clients; especially in areas such as Enterprise / Solution architecture, due diligence, technology selection, or digital technology integration.
  • Coach and mentor junior consultants to improve their technology consulting capability

General Requirements

Required Skills

Typical profile

  • Roughly 5-7 years of management consulting experience in a Tier 1/2 Consulting firm, boutique strategy house or an internal advisory role
  • Proven experience working in consulting project teams, managing relationships at senior levels within top listed organisations or equivalent blue chip organisations - in areas such as digital strategy, operating model design, process design, complex transformation and operational improvement
  • Ideally a strong background in Banking and Financial Services (From a Strategic, Operational and Technology perspective)
  • Exposure to financial markets and/or regulatory systems internationally would be a significant advantage
  • A strong track record leading client advisory, technology selection and solutioning and a hands-on role in leading complex transformation engagements
  • Experience working with a variety of digital and cloud based technologies, microservices / API’s, and familiarity with Agile / Dev Ops principles / ways of working
  • Experience building senior client relationships on engagements; to drive successful outcomes, identify new consulting opportunities, and positioning / pitching for additional consulting work with clients


  • Demonstrate strong program management skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams in an agile manner
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and financial modelling skills
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Australian Financial Services experience, preferably including business process mapping & modelling, and/or designing and implementing solutions related to RPA
  • Experience in payments, cards, risk or compliance function would be an advantage
  • Should be good in Bilingual capability (English & Japanese); Japanese skills needs to be at N2 level
