Consultant for International Business Growth

We’re looking to hire an outstanding consulting candidate to the semi-governmental organization Business Sweden (Swedish Trade & Invest Council). Our Team today consists of 13 people and also active as the Commercial Office of Embassy of Sweden in Tokyo. Our mission is to assist Swedish companies to establish, develop and expand their business in Japan.

What do we expect from you?

You will be working in our consulting operation to provide support to our corporate clients in their business development in Japan. You will work both independently and in teams, initially assisting more senior colleagues, then gradually take on more individual responsibility.

The work will range from providing hands-on support to our corporate clients, such as arranging business meetings with local stakeholders, organizing major events and delegations, to participating in more complex consulting projects such as conducting market analysis and partner searches.

To be successful in the role you will need to have a proactive approach and ability to multitask. You also need to be socially skilled, able to interact with and establish good working relations with both Swedish corporate clients and Japanese stakeholders.

Required Skills

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a higher academic degree, probably a Master of Science in Business, Administration or/and Engineering
  • Your professional background (at least 5-6 years) preferably includes some consulting or project management experience.
  • Previous working experience from an industrial sector such as ICT or Life Science would also be a clear merit.
  • You have international experience in making business, working or studying abroad.
  • You must be a native Japanese speaker and a resident. You should also have a very high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • As a person you are result-oriented and a real team player who likes to work in a non-hierarchical environment.
  • You also have a passion for, and ability to, handle new challenges with a can-do attitude.
