Our client is a European based company, provider of fully integrated electronic and mechatronic design and manufacturing solutions in Penang. They are looking for candidate with experience in sourcing, procurement or commodity management to be part of their team.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as the custodian for one or more designated commodities.
Collaborate with Corporate Procurement to develop and implement a synergistic commodity strategy.
Maintain a balanced supplier base, considering total cost, availability, and risk factors.
Promote item localization to support a well-balanced supply chain.
Support the SCO in locating or expediting critical parts during urgent situations.
Lead the qualification process for new suppliers.
Set up new suppliers, including reviewing and negotiating various agreements.
Continuously monitor supplier performance and associated risks.
Work with Key Account Managers (KAM) to reduce BOM (Bill of Materials) costs.
Validate supplier quotations, negotiate for the best terms, and shortlist potential suppliers.
Request samples for NPI (New Product Introduction) projects and coordinate with IQA for first article submissions.
Continuously monitor market trends and respond proactively.
Job Requirement
Strong negotiation skills, proficient to communicate in English and Malay
Cost conscious and sensitive to number
Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement/sourcing function with EMS
