Job Description

A Snapshot

As the Contracts Administrator based in Tokyo you will report directly to the Contracts Manager, Japan and work closely with the rest of the Development team, making your mark in a number of ways:

  • You will provide support to the delivery teams on contracts and commercial administration across the entire lifecycle of data centres developments
  • You will act as a key communicator to internal and external stakeholders on contract and financial matters relating to the development of data centres

Your Day to Day
•    Assist the Contracts Manager in drafting new contracts, variations and contractual correspondence
•    Raise and generate Purchase Orders and take ownership of tracking and communication of approvals to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the process is facilitated efficiently and effectively 
•    Cost management system super user support – champion the process and assist the development team to ensure costs are allocated correctly with PO’s approved in a highly efficient manner
•    Assist Contracts Managers in contract lifecycle responsibilities including kick off, delivery and close out of all contracts 
•    Coordinate payments between Development and Finance teams to ensure payment of contractors in accordance with contract payment terms
•    Assisting in the development and implementation of reporting tools for measurement of key contract metrics 
•    Travel domestically as required to data centre sites for project initiation, project reviews and audits, claims management, project close out, as required



General Requirements

Minimum Experience Level Over 6 years
Career Level Mid Career
Minimum English Level Business Level (Amount Used: English usage about 50%)
Minimum Japanese Level Native
Minimum Education Level Bachelor's Degree
Visa Status Permission to work in Japan required

Required Skills

•    You speak English and Japanese (emphasis on Japanese)
•    You have successfully supported projects in a contracts or commercial role in a complex construction or development environment 
•    You have high attention to detail and collaboration skills with the ability to be resourceful and communicate clearly and concisely to the team to deliver to project requirements and timelines
•    Authentic and genuine personality who can build strong relationships with diverse personalities around the world
