Job Description

Essential Function Description

The TDD Coordinator will be responsible for the management of all technical related workstreams as part of due diligence processes, whether they be project or platform acquisitions, greenfield development projects, lender-related activities, or similar. This role will also be responsible for integration of completed transactions.

This position will require the technical and industry knowledge necessary to solve challenges that occur during due diligence processes, as well as strong communication with internal and external counterparties to facilitate smooth transaction completion. Success in the role will be characterized by solid alignment and teamwork across functions, timely and successful completion of transactions, and achievement of investment results.

The TDD Coordinator will be responsible to:

  • Manage all technical due diligence activities for acquisition, development, finance, and related activities
  • Coordinate with relevant local and global functions to organize internal support needs
  • Identify and select external advisors based on expertise needs and internal resource constraints
  • Set up projects by identifying work scope, assigning resources, preparing tools, and developing timelines
  • Conduct kick-off, regular, and special meetings to ensure project alignment and send meeting summaries
  • Continuously monitor project activities, maintain timelines, and escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Review deliverables for accuracy and completeness and act as required
  • Ensure informational needs to complete work activities are delivered in a timely manner
  • Ensure project risk assessments and financial inputs are complete and accurate
  • Resolve issues and reduce project risks by engaging the right stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Draft investment memos and make revisions as required
  • Monitor and keep team members up-to-date on the investment committee processes
  • Manage the integration process for acquired projects
  • Identify and maintain close partnerships with key local and global stakeholders
  • Conduct lessons learned activities following each project and at other times as required
  • Review and improve the IT tools used during TDD activities at regular intervals
  • Review the due diligence process regularly and drive improvement both within the function and company
  • Keep up-to-date on Growth-related activities

Key Competencies


  • Strong technical background from university degree and/or work experience
  • At least 3 years of experience coordinating power generation or similar infrastructure projects
  • Advanced capabilities in MS Office and related IT applications


  • High attention to detail with excellent analytical and coordination skills
  • Strong communicator across levels
  • Self-motivated, well organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to work and deliver under tight timelines and multiple workstreams
  • Japanese fluency and able to easily converse and write in English
  • Able to travel domestically based on business needs, averaging up to 30% of work time
  • Licensed to drive in Japan

Key Accountabilities


  • Provide the technical leadership that enables us to develop our Japanese pipeline
  • Optimize our due diligence activities to meet aggressive timelines and use resources efficiently

Leadership/Management Responsibility (Number of Direct reports/Geographic scope)

  • Lead and coordinate due diligence processes involving internal and external stakeholders

Work Environment

  • Location will be our Tokyo office with periodic travel to domestic project sites

Physical Demands

  • The candidate must be able to travel, drive a car, and walk around and within project sites

Position Type/Expected Hours

  • 40 hours per week


  • Travel will be required for this role, on average up to 30% of the time

Required Education and Experience

  • Education – Bachelor of Science Degree or similar in a technical discipline
