To successfully manage the business integration and growth, we are currently looking for an Acccounting Manager to lead our Japan operations.

Key responsibilities
The Accounting Manager is going to be accountable for the following activities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in a reporting package template
• Prepare monthly closings with accuracy and timeliness and meet all local statutory reporting requirements.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze BS fluctuations
• Handle all accounting operations including daily, monthly and year-end closing in compliance with both J-GAAP and IFRS.
• Prepare annual financial statements and the support documents for audit purpose
• Prepare regulatory reporting to regulators (Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annually, Annually)
• Prepare the local tax compliance work, including income tax, consumption tax and property tax filings.
• Work closely with the tax consultants for tax related provisions and review tax returns/transfer pricing local file
• Internal control and process improvement management
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Required background
The ideal candidate for this position has:

• 5+ years proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• Experience in cost accounting preferred
• Japanese CPA, CTA or equivalent qualification
• Good knowledge of JGAAP and IFRS standards
• Knowledge of tax regulation in Japan (Corporate tax, consumption tax and transfer pricing tax)
• Ability to understand and manage accounting processes independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong MS office skills (Advance Excel skills – highly preferred)
• Bilingual (English - high business / Japanese - Native)
• SAP R3/ Hana system user experience highly preferred
• Well organized, detail-oriented, able to cope with tight deadlines under pressure

Location
Remote work is an option, with occasional visit to office in Iwaki when needed
※ If candidate decides to move to Iwaki, relocation support is provided
