Translation (Japanese to English)
■Tax, consulting and accounting-related proposals, presentations, memos, position papers and other deliverables
■Internal communications (e.g. announcements, policies, information session materials, training materials)
■External communications (e.g. articles, marketing materials, media interviews, etc.)

Translation quality assurance
■Self-editing and revision
■Review of colleagues’ translations to ensure accuracy and consistency
■Occasional review of English materials drafted by company professionals

Terminology and database management
■Regular use and update of translation assistance tools
■Testing of new tools and use cases

Coordination
■Occasional outsourcing of translations to third-party vendors
■Provide feedback on translation quality to third-party vendors

■Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality
■Ability to produce accurate, idiomatic translations across a range of fields and contexts
■Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and experts, as well as perform research using publicly available information and other resources, to produce accurate translations even in new and unfamiliar disciplines
■Curious, quick and lifelong learner
■Ability to meet reasonable translation productivity targets

Linguistic/cultural abilities
■Educated native speaker of English with distinguished writing ability
■ACTFL-defined Superior proficiency in Japanese
■Fluency in Japanese business culture

Other
■Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
■Minimum of 2 years of experience as a full-time in-house translator in a supervised environment, 5 years of experience as a freelance translator, or an equivalent combination of both
