Job Description

Lead the development of Ciena's engagement for assigned Service Provider account(s) within the Japan team by defining the multiyear vision, the strategy, the go to market plan and the financial expectations to drive profitable business growth leading to preferred vendor status for Ciena.

Develop, execute and maintain a major customer engagement plan which includes all stakeholders and levels from Ciena top executives down to working level with clear assignment to relevant Ciena counter parts.Drive the business to a high Product Diversity level across the entire Ciena Product Portfolio as well as the Blue Planet Software Suite.

Responsibilities
• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the Go to Market plan, Account Plan and manage assigned customer’s priorities.
Create and implement strategic solutions to best position Ciena within the various Customer groups to maximize its revenue streams and margins in accordance with company expectations.
Develop existing customer relationship across the assigned Account(s) to maximise revenue potential.
Drive the numbers and reporting for the assigned segment – revenue, booking, margin etc
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Work in close relationship with the Corporate & Regional support functions (HR, Facilities, IT, finance, legal, Services, SE, Commercial Mgmt) to meet and exceed regional goals

Minimum Education Level Bachelor's Degree
Visa Status Permission to work in Japan required

Required Skills

Excellent experience of the carrier market with focus on their business strategies and success criteria
Sound sales and management experience within the optical & data networking arena with a high degree of selling system solutions (experience in SW/SDN/NFV is regarded an advantage).
• Sound experience as previous account management within the Tier1 segment at senior level
• Experience of bringing new solutions / products to market
• Strong understanding of business issues & over average business acumen
• Proven track record of carrying and exceeding quota
