Job Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for managing business relationships with the client base and acquiring new clients. They also oversee the preparation of proposals for client projects.

  • Identify and follow up on any new business opportunities
     
  • Liaise with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients to define their clinical supply chain requirements; provide detailed reports of these activities.
     
  • Ensure that financial and call rate targets are met for all allocated current clients.
     
  • Manage and co-ordinate Requests for Information/Proposals with internal departments.
     
  • Ensure that generated proposals align with customer expectations and that internal teams are kept updated on changes.
     
  • Maintain up-to-date information on nominated accounts and any sales leads in the Almac CRM system
     
  • Ensure that all sales presentations are kept updated.
     
  • Work with Director, Business Development- Japan and other senior management to implement business development strategies.

General Requirements

Minimum Experience Level Over 6 years
Career Level Mid Career
Minimum English Level Business Level (Amount Used: English usage about 50%)
Minimum Japanese Level Native
Minimum Education Level Bachelor's Degree
Visa Status Permission to work in Japan required

Required Skills

  • Degree: Life Science/ Business

  • Min 6 years of experience in sales or business development experience and pharmaceutical experience preferred

  • Very familiar with Japanese business etiquette

  • Able to communicate in written and verbal Japanese and English (business level) because of international interaction

  • Adaptable mindset
