With a strong international profile and significant network, including pension and sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, fund managers, family offices and endowments. AIGCC represents the Asian investor perspective in the evolving global discussions on climate change and the transition to a greener economy.
Investors from across the region are welcome to participate in the group, including from China, Japan, India, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and the Pacific.
The current Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) was launched as part of the Global Investor Coalition in September 2016 in Singapore.
The AIGCC was previously established as an initiative set up in 2011 by the Association for Sustainable and Responsible Investment in Asia (ASrIA which is now PRI Asia), to create awareness among Asia’s asset owners and financial institutions about the risks and opportunities associated with climate change and low carbon investing.
The merger between ASrIA and the Principles for Responsible Investment was completed at the end of 2015 with AIGCC now operating independently from the PRI.
