取り掛かる
“get the ball rolling”は、何かを始めるときに使うイディオムです。
ここでいう”ball”は、イギリスのスポーツのクロッケー（日本のゲートボールの原型）から由来しているといわれており、
最初にプレイすると有利なことから、”get the ball rolling”は「ボールを転がす」≒「試合を始める」≒「（何かに）取り掛かる」と訳されています。
