Director of Corporate Communications
Summary:
The Director of Corporate Communications will lead communications efforts for all areas of the company, including business and consumer media relations, employee communications, executive positioning, corporate affairs, community outreach, and issues and reputation management.
S/he is responsible for a multi-faceted communications department designed to build and strengthen the organization’s objectives and reputation. This position will provide quality control for communications programs, media activities, and special events for the company’s business divisions. In addition, this position will maintain the enhancement of Disney’s brand and awareness of its products and services by working effectively with PR practitioners at business divisions.
S/he reports both to the president and to the Corporate Communications head of HQ.
Responsibilities:
The director will be responsible for
- Developing and executing communication plans working with the Corporate Communications headquarter in HQ, including internal communications and media and public relations programs in order to ensure the desired corporate reputation among the media, business prospects, customers and employees.
- Collaborating with the president and corporate executives to ensure proper company positioning and messaging.
- Acting as a spokesperson for the company for a variety of inquiries.
- Responding to media requests for information and facilitating media interviews with spokespeople and others.
- Fostering collaborative relationships with other divisions to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives and services.
- Preparing or editing publications for internal and external audiences.
Review and provide feedback on drafts of press releases and announcements, ensuring that all corporate communications efforts are consistent with the company’s positive image and branding efforts.
- Mentoring PR practitioners at business divisions to integrate their efforts on effective communications programs.
- Providing guidance and advice to other leaders in management in case of crisis situations.
- Developing employee communication programs along with related functions (such as HR) to advance organizational goals.
- Acting as a liaison with charitable organizations.
Determine charity organization priorities and the types of programs available for employee participation under the supervision of the Outreach Program headquarter
