Our client is the world’s #1 retailer, with more than 7,250 stores, including about 975 discount stores, 2,800 combination discount and grocery stores and 590 warehouse stores throughout the World. Based out of the U.S., they have operations in Asia, Europe, and South America.
They are rapidly expanding their operations in Japan and are currently looking for a Legal Associate.
Primary Work includes:
- Drafting and/or reviewing legal documents and providing legal consultation to different functions at our client
- Liaison with HQ Legal and other functions
- Organizing and/or advising on corporate meetings, including board meetings, compliance committee meetings, shareholders meetings
- Advising on and/or consulting on corporate governance and compliance issues
Consultation and management of Intellectual Property (trademarks and others)
Necessary liaison with external counsels in litigation and other matters
Qualifications:
- 3-year or more experience in a company legal department
- Knowledge and experience in business inJapan
- A good command of business English
- An undergraduate law degree, preferred
- A legal qualification (either from Japan or from a common law jurisdiction) or other legal qualifications, preferred
