The successful candidate will be working as part of the TSC Software group to: 
* Provide responsive technical assistance to customer requests for support and take responsibility for the analysis and resolution of complex issues including identifying problems in the code or deployment as well as customer satisfaction. 
* Setup systems in Sun’s labs to emulate customer problems and trouble shoot them, giving customer instructions on how to resolve the problem, or identifying a software defect and escalating to Sun’s engineering department to fix. Where possible identifying the failing code. 
* Use Call Management tools to update all involved parties of activities, facilitate and collaborate with other team members in remote locations to resolve customer issues, escalating to engineering and management where appropriate. 
* Act as customer’s contact person and communicate effectively with customers on any issues questions/concerns. 
* Act as a liaison with higher levels of technical support. 
* Effectively manage, against reviewed priorities, personal list of outstanding customer queries. 
* Participate in new products technical support and delivery reviews. 
* Become a product specialist on Sun’s Identity Manager and/or designated products within the team. 
* Promote best practices though the good use of process and demonstration of integrity and professionalism. 
* Keep abreast of all relevant technical and product development specific to specialist areas. 
* Review and comment on viability of product introduction and support plans. 
In this support role you will interact with a variety of technical and functional personnel both in-house and with customers. 
* Must be prepared to travel internationally to attend training especially in the first 12 months of the job. 
* Lead and complete projects as directed. 
* Set and drive technical direction given ambiguous goals. 
* Take ownership of Sun’s high visibility issues and drive them to resolution. </div>
