Position Summary

This is an important role in eBusiness Group which runs enterprise-wise eCommerce related projects. Usually, this kind of projects will cover both legacy system and new platforms.

The eCommerce Analyst reports to eBusiness Group Manager and works closely with Project Implementation team, Business Analyst and Business Users. He/she should understand business requirement very well and ensure to create a proper solution for eCommerce related projects in the company.

The candidate will help expand the product coverage from Equity to Listed Derivatives, Swaps, Structured Products, covering many fast growing Asian markets. The responsibilities break down into: 
1. Work with users to analyse the business needs, and build solutions for it. 
2. Coordinate with the Sales/Trading IT groups to integrate the systems, and manage the progress. 
3. Make code and configuration changes to facilitate the above. 
4. Analyse system usage and maintain stable environments for both testing and in production. The proprietary trade booking system is used to allocate and book client trades. It sits between Sales/Trading systems and other post-execution processing and confirmation systems in the companies environment. As such the integration role is a great opportunity to gain a lot of exposure to the life cycle of a trade and to work with varied User and IT groups globally. It will also give early exposure to project management and leadership opportunities as the role requires considerable coordination of changes and testing across multiple systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, given the close interaction with local users as well as colleages in New York, Toronto, London, Mumbai, Pune, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

As one of the largest IT development teams in the company, we are responsible globally for the applications that underpin the investment process.  These systems form the backbone of the business and support fund performance and attribution, trade operations, corporate actions, reconciliations, accounting, guidelines compliance and other critical business functions covering the Middle Office and Back Office functional areas.

Our Operations platform is undergoing significant changes both in terms implementing strategic solutions aligning with the global directions as well as business needs/growth in the coming years. To support the various applications involving the above mentioned business functions a dedicated Support team has been formed regionally in Japan. 

To support our objectives, we require a Sr. Support Engineer/Lead to manage the applications set, lead / resolve issue resolutions, participate and liaise with IT teams in reviews, change releases etc - that will satisfy both the Business and IT objectives support excellence, process efficiency.

Key responsibilities

-This role will do production support for Operations Technology applications. 
-Participate in the Production Lifecycle - root cause analysis, give feedback to the development team, review changes and subsequent releases to production.
-Lead 1 support engineers work on Support process improvements initiatives and other key support activities - being a gatekeeper of Production environment, review change releases etc.
-Will be work in a team environment providing production support and liaising with other IT support staff.
-This role has a primary reporting line into the Global Operations Technology (GOT) Support Manager, Japan with dotted line report to the regional GOT Application Development leads and global GOT Support Managers (USA, Europe, Australia.)
-The key responsibility will be to take ownership of issue resolution including communications, causal analysis and remedial actions minimizing the possibility of reoccurring of the incident. Should be able to articulate quick/interim solutions supporting “business as usual” with no or negligible impact in eventualities involving critical time periods.
-This role demands Good leadership qualities in being able to inspire belief within the team and user communicating being supported.  Work closely with the business and exhibit good communication skills in reporting, issue tracking and resolution.
-Should be able to work closely with the Development teams in understanding the new enhancements/developments in pipeline, participate and conduct reviews, gatekeeper activities shielding Production environment with controlled release
-Bring in best practices with relevant policies, support procedures and quality assurance. Playing key role in maintenance of  Support documentation.
