On April 1, 2006, T-Systems took over the shares in gedas AG from Volkswagen AG. gedas generated a turnover of around € 606 million in 2005 and serves customers in the industry sectors for automotive, transport, logistics and public administration. The new T-Systems after the integration becomes a service provider with combined revenues of nearly € 13.5 billion and employees of 57,500.

Our IT services business which we started as a new business in 2004 has grown to exceed the revenues of our traditional telecommunications business, and the total number of our employees has also increased from less than 40 back then to over 100 today.
