Over 100 HR directors and related executives gathered at Meguro Gajoen to attend C.C. Consulting’s conference titled Strategic HR Management 2008.
The conference’s keynote speaker, Mr. Isao Sakurai (CEO of HSBC Services and Head of Human Resources at HSBC Japan) started the lectures with his presentation on “Transforming Organizations to have a ‘stretch and performance’ culture” which touched on key areas such as implementing unified cultural change that values achievement sustaining the core values of the enterprise and HR’s role in this change. The conference’s second Keynote speaker, Mr. Tom Pedersen (Statutory Executive Officer, Head of People and Communications Group, and Chief Learning Officer at Shinsei Bank) spoke on “Trends in Talent Management: Keeping Your Workforce Aligned and Engaged” which gave valuable information on how to ensure that your short-term tactical priorities don’t overshadow your need to have engaged employees and a sustainable business.

TOKYO, Japan, September 23 2008. The team at C.C. Consulting Co. Ltd. team is excited to announce the renewal of Japan’s premier online bilingual recruitment resource, CareerCross.com.
We’ve completely revamped the job seeker profile and employer control panel from the ground up - making it easier for job seekers and employers to promote their skills and company. A host of exciting new features were developed and the site completely redesigned to dramatically improve the users experience and save time.

My Page
My Page (formerly the job seeker Control Panel) takes the work out of searching for a job. We now display a list of jobs that match the job seekers resume, along with companies that have viewed their resume. No searching is required for job seekers; they can just login and start applying to jobs that match their skill set!
Resume
The resume system now synchronizes the job seekers information across multiple resumes. Job seekers can add their skills and qualifications from our easy-to-use lists, or personalize their profile with a photo. The job seeker just has to click ‘save’ and all their resumes will be updated!
Specialty Searches
Users can now search jobs on CareerCross by specialized categories such as executive careers, international companies, specialized languages, MBA / higher education jobs, and more. Our existing job search features have also been overhauled to help job seekers pinpoint their dream position.
Salary Guide
The CareerCross salary guide analyzes job posting and resume data across all industries over a 6 month period. The “Pay Rise Calculator” will estimate what the job seeker can expect to take home in their new salary after various deductions such as tax and social insurance.

Branding
Employers can now promote their corporate image throughout CareerCross. The look and feel of all their jobs and their company profile can now be unified by a custom designed corporate template.
Job Postings
The new and improved job posting page allows employers to highlight key points in their jobs through a variety of methods. Job descriptions and company details can be enhanced with HTML formatting. Employers can also promote more features to make their position unique by choosing the company type, while recruiters can now specify which company they are recruiting for.
Resume Search
We have added many new search options to help employers find the right candidates with the least amount of effort. The keyword search system has been rebuilt improving the accuracy of results. Resumes can now be searched by the industry the job seeker has experience in, as well as the desired industry they would like to work in.
CareerCross API
The CareerCross API allows employers to connect to the CareerCross database remotely and insert, update, or delete jobs directly from their own CRM minimizing the time it takes a company to manage its job postings.
Feature Jobs
Employers can now highlight a position they are advertising by creating a Feature Job. A Feature Job will appear at the top of search results, highlighted in green, for its selected category.
Unique Users
Security is a major issue when dealing with corporate data. To increase security, CareerCross has introduced a system that allows employers to create unique user accounts for employees within their organization. Each unique user can log into their employers’ master account on CareerCross using a username and password unique to them. The master account administrator can easily manage all unique users’ permissions, access rights and account usage limits from one interface.

International CareerCross Forum 2008
February 28th - March 1st, 2008 Tokyo, Japan
Over two-day International CareerCross Forum 2008, held from February 28th to March 1st, 2,812 career professionals visited Academy Hills 40 in Roppongi Hills Mori Tower to meet face-to-face with 50 hiring companies/educational institutions, attend individual company presentations and listen to career enhancing seminars.
The International CareerCross Forum 2008 is unique as this is the one event targeted for bilinguals that combining three aspects in one forum; career change, education (MBA and continuing education), and seminars from industry leaders & exhibiting companies.
The major reason why 97% of participating companies reporting that they were satisfied, or higher, with the forum were due mainly to: (1) The English ability of Japanese visitors, (2) The high number of visitors (average 182 per booth), and (3) This skill level of the candidates.
