Job Seekers decide whether to apply for a job by looking at your job description. The more appealing your job description is to a potential candidate, the greater the number of applicants you will receive.
When posting new positions, creating a job description from the job seeker’s standpoint will make it more attractive to potential candidates. Thinking about what kind of information a candidate would like to know, can make a great deal of difference to the number of potential applications you will receive.
It’s only a job title, but it makes a big difference to job seekers. The job title is the first thing a job seeker will see. Only if it looks interesting will they click on it to find out the details about the position. The more appealing the job title is, the greater the chance that the candidate will read the rest of the job description and apply for the position.
Include critical information, e.g. whether it is a senior or junior, sales or marketing, administrative
or IT related position.
e.g.) Junior Web Designer, Senior Account Executive (Pacific Region)
Be concise, but concrete. “International Sales Dept. Assistant” is concrete, while “Office Clerk”
keeps the candidate guessing.

Add a catch phrase or two in the job description. For example ask questions to the candidate.
“Are you interested in working in an exciting and successful, leading edge company? Do you
possess the enthusiasm, vision and sales skills to truly make a difference?”
The job description should include the job responsibilities and duties, essential skills and experience
plus any other relevant details. Please DO NOT include your e-mail address or direct contact
details - applicants can contact you directly to the registered e-mail address.
State your requirements for skills and experience. Remember, however, that the higher the
requirements, the fewer candidates will apply. This is especially true for Japanese candidates,
who tend to understate their abilities.
The company description is another decisive point. The working environment is very important
for many candidates. Knowing the your main area of business and your products as well as size
of the company and its atmosphere, will give the candidate the opportunity to imagine themselves as
part of your organization.

and Japanese. You can choose the job to appear on the Japanese, English, or both sites. If you

same way on both.
There are Japanese job seekers who search using the English interface, however, many will prefer
using the system in their native language. To reach both, we advise you to post the same job
description in both English and Japanese. According to our statistics, this can increase responses
up to thirty percent.
