What browsers do you support on CareerCross?
For the best possible user experience, we recommend you always use the latest stable version of your preferred browser. We have developed CareerCross to be standards compliant and we support all major browsers including IE6 and 7, Firefox 2 and 3, Opera 9.5 and Safari 3. If you are using an older browser you may experience some formatting issues and possible bugs for features that take advantage of newer technology. Please upgrade your browser to the latest version to experience the site as it was intended.
What is RSS?
RSS stands for ’Real Simple Syndication’. Put plainly, it allows you to subscribe to content you are interested in and have any updates delivered directly to your news reader (or client) of choice.
How do I start using RSS feeds?
In general, the first thing you need is something called a ‘news reader’. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. All allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS feeds you want. Some examples of free online news readers can be found at: “http://reader.google.com” or “http://www.bloglines.com/”. Most modern email clients such as Outlook and Thunderbird also support RSS feeds. For news reader applications, check out NewzCrawler (http://www.newzcrawler.com/), FeedDemon (http://www.feeddemon.com) or NewsFire (http://www.newsfirerss.com/).
Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want. For example, if you would like the latest jobs from CareerCross, simply visit the website and you will notice an orange RSS button on the bottom of the page. If you click on the button you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, including by dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.
New browsers, including Firefox, IE7, Opera and Safari, have functionality which can automatically pick up RSS feeds for you. For more details on these functions, please check their help.
Can I use CareerCross RSS feeds on my website?
We encourage the use of CareerCross Job RSS feeds as part of your website. However, we do require that the proper format and attribution is used when CareerCross content appears. The attribution text should read "CareerCross Job Listings" or "Powered by CareerCross" as appropriate. You may not use any CareerCross logo without prior express permission.
C.C. Consulting Co. Ltd. does not accept any liability for its RSS feeds. Please see our “Terms and Conditions” for full details.
Japanese character encoding problems for Mac Internet Explorer users
Users of Internet Explorer on Mac Operating Systems might experience garbled Japanese text (mojibake) problems on CareerCross. Microsoft has discontinued support for this browser. We recommend using Safari or Firefox (http://www.getfirefox.com) on Mac OS.
