
Position Objective:
The Web Integration Engineer will be part of a team responsible for designing and implementing solutions based on business requirements and/or global designs. The engineer will ensure that systems are in compliance with client standards and satisfy all requirements (e.g. Information Security, Operational) for handover. Specifically, services provided by Integration pertain to technology infrastructure disciplines encompassing:
1. OS Platform Technologies: Includes AIX, Linux, and Solaris OSes..
2. Middleware: BEA WebLogic, IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere, etc.
3rd Party Applications: Involves working with the business and/or vendors to integrate applications into the existing technology infrastructure.
Key Functions of the Role:
1. Work as a lead engineer with Engineering, Information Security, and the various Operational groups and Business Units to ensure standard strategies are adhered to in the system design and implementation process. Good organizational skills and a professional business manner are essential.
2. Maintain a current knowledge of globally approved technology standards and products.
3. Understand client infrastructure and issues that may impact day-to-day operations.
4. Participate in Product Integration and Testing function which works in conjunction with Global Engineering and Release Management to test the latest builds and packages.
5. Contribute to the improvement of local processes.
The majority of time will be spent on the design, build-out and deployment of systems and technologies for both client Technology Infrastructure and the various business units of the client’s Japan operations (80-90%). A smaller percentage of time will be spent on build/package testing, compliance issues, and internal documentation.
