My client is one of the global luxury retailers with many stores through out Japan. Currently they are looking for a Finance Director, responsible for management of Finance and Accounting organization, and major responsibilities are as follows:

 Ensure company achieves pre-tax profit targets through strategic financial management and through appropriate business control.
 Provide strategic leadership to all finance and accounting functions, including: accounting; tax planning and compliance; financial planning/analysis; credit and collections; and corporate risk management.
 Establish and lead proper business control structure to support the growing business while ensuring proper authorization/control functions.

Department management
· Supervise 5 people, 2 for Finance (Finance Manager and Finance analyst) and 3 Accounting (Assistant Manager, 2 junior accountants) provide guidance, support, and periodic evaluation of performance.
· Contribute to the overall strategic and developmental planning and completing corporate initiatives.
· Assist Japan CEO in achieving the business plan.

Financial Reporting
· Oversee month-end closing processes and review month-end reporting package including:
· Review the local reporting packages for unusual items and provide if required.
· Address questions from HQ Finance & Controllership team.
· Review local tax schedules and US tax reporting packages.
· Communicate accounting policies and procedures.

Financial Planning
· Review monthly forecast by working with Management team.
· Prepare the annual budget by working with Retail/Marketing/Merchandise team and related Departments.
· Review Cash Flow and Balance Sheet Forecast and address inquiries regarding the forecasts

Financial Analysis
· Financial analysis review for Store contribution/gross margin
· Working with merchandise/retail department, develop the liquidation plan for aged inventory.
· Access the location for new store and review the store opening proforma/renovation proforma
· Working with Merchandise team to develop the sales strategy in terms of merchandise planning.

Others
· Review the agreement with landlord and coordinate with local attorney/US Legal department.
· Support Customer Service team as Administration Director.


System Maintenance and Enhancements
· Working with US controllership/Local IT, implementation of SAP AP/Fixed Assets module and other financial package

Ad hoc Assignment
· Assist CEO in performing ad hoc assignments

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance
Holder of Master Degree preferred
Certified Public Accountant or equivalent

Experience: 8-10 years working experience in Accounting/Finance Department at Multinational Company of which 2-3 years or more management experience
Forecast/Budget preparation experience
US GAAP reporting experience

Language: Fluency in English (oral and written)

Computer: Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
Knowledge Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must

Professional: In depth knowledge of US and Japan GAAP
