Requirements
Competence of Investments
・Experience of managing a Japanese Equity portfolio (either for
institutional investors or investment trusts)
・At least 3-year track records
・Skills of capturing alpha from both sector/industry allocation and
stock selection
・Quantitative analysis skills for sector allocation, stock
screening, and portfolio construction is an advantage
・Experience of researching into global equity markets or managing
global equity portfolios is an advantage
Competence of Investment Solutions
・Accurate understanding of investment style such as core, value ,or
growth
・Strong interest in innovative/new ideas
Competence of Communications
・Bi-cultural orientation --- working in a team of 6 (5 Japanese
native, 1 English native)
・Strong verbal and written English communication skill --- the
position requires working closely with an English native on a
daily basis
・Active interaction with global peers (fund managers in Toronto,
Hong Kong, London, and Boston)
・Interest in communicating with investors/clients
・Enthusiasm about co-working with team members
Qualifications
・Professional qualifications: CFA or equivalents
・Strong academic background: MBA, MS is an advantage
