
Our client, a leading multinational company in the men’s luxury clothing industry is seeking a Store Manager for their Tokyo branch. The Store Manager will be responsible for promoting the company’s brand and developing the company’s business through optimizing the sales development of the store in terms of image, turnover and profitability by managing properly the store staff and developing effective Customer Management and Marketing programs in line with the company’s retail strategy.
Store Management
・ Demonstrates grasp of business according to the existing Kpi’s
・ Handles issues in timely manner
・ Reports the relevant information to the Retail Manager
・ Reads and manages economic store performance following the management by objectives
・ Manages the Store P&L, sales and margin
・ Be responsible for store budget and sell-out
・ Be responsible to control the costs and above all the personnel expenses with regard to the budgets
・ Manages cash and inventory effectively
・ Manages sales and service quality
・ Maintains a good store environment
Customer Management
・ Monitors sales associates customer portfolio and ensure their development and business growth
・ Generates business through his/hers client portfolio
・ Defines and monitors clients goals
・ Manages actively use of RIS and CRM system and data in order to react and define the sales associates actions to increase the business
・ Monitors inter-selling of associates
・ Ensure the brand is communicated properly and the rest of Retail company policies
Product Management
・ Gives feed-back - to the Retail Manager and to the Buyer - on the collection purchased to the buying process
・ Communicating all the information concerning the customers’ reaction to the products, the problems in accepting the products (price, quality, style) and the market opportunities for new products
・ Analyses - with the buyer’s support -qualitative purchase results, determining which are the “best sellers” and “worst sellers”
・ Upholds merchandising standards; verifying the adequacy between the merchandising rules set by headquarters and the reality of the environment in order to optimize the sales
Sales Management
・ Supported by the Retail Manager he/she reviews selling reports to analyze daily, weekly and monthly selling to identify trends and opportunities to maximize productivity
・ In agreement with the buyer he reacts to markets demands determining re-stocking to maximize the sales
People Management
・ He/she leads by example, acting as a role model sharing the MBO methodology
・ Spending most of his/her time on coaching and training the staff to improve the business
・ Actively involved in the recruiting, training, and development of the team
・ He/she effectively sets priorities and goals for him/her and for the team in line with the MBO methodology
・ Develops and maintains a good team work to enhance the motivation and create enthusiasm throughout the sales force
・ Manages the shop meetings on a regular basis
・ Being organized and animating aware of the employees’ problems and taking any actions to help problem solving
・ He/she consistently coaches sales performance
・ He/she has good communication skills, he/she can give and receive feed-backs
Ambassador / External Relations
(PR)
・ He/she actively promotes outside the Store
・ Be the ambassador of the Company’s image and style
・ Participate to relevant local events to promote brand and store
(Local Business Development)
・ He/she develops - in agreement with the Retail Manager - local business development
・ Effectively works with the Marketing department to effectively implement events and other marketing activities in order to increase the traffic/business in the store
・ Creates partnerships, connections with local network of hotels and clubs
・ Plays an active role in the social contest becoming a referent for the Brand and local community
・ He/She analyses the competitors on an ongoing basis (analyzing prices, marketing activities, competitive advantages)
The successful candidate will have a high school degree (minimum), university degree or MBA is preferred, 7 years total experience, out of which the candidate will have at least 3 years of successful experience managing a complex business (managing budget, people, logistic, marketing), and experience in people management. Native level Japanese and fluent level English is also required for this position.
