Department Overview
Operational Management (Development) is responsible for managing and implementing projects that can affect more than one group within the Investment Operations and Administration business and systems environments. The source of project work is varied - a number of product related projects are initiated by Investment Administration; however, Product Development and the Institutional group also have significant input. Systems projects tend to arise as a result of business efficiencies required by Investment Administrations or the third party fund accounting systems used within the department.
Operation Management is responsible for the following matters related to Service Center Management;
・Project management and promotion
・Promotion and management of business process re-engineering and
automation
・Creation and maintenance of business requirements and functional
specifications
・Consulting function related to operations and system development.

Job Overview
In this role the incumbent is required to deliver project management, business process re-engineering business analysis and other non-day to day operations.
Key Responsibilities (include details of type of industry / clients to support, Type of fund / trades to manage, type of systems / applications to support)
・Identifies, manages and implements business process re-engineering
projects to continuously improve the efficiency of the teams.Key
requirement is to work collaboratively with the heads of each of
the teams within the department acting as a change agent and using
influencing skills to get their buy-in and co-operation to change
initiatives.
・Monitors and reports on progress of process enhancement and
automation projects.
・Production of project Terms of Reference (planning and scoping
documents)
・Setting up project meetings as required
・Establishing project timelines and action plans and monitoring
progress against the timeline/ action plan
・Compiling checklists and ensuring adherence to planned activities
・Assisting in the identification and resolution of issues
・Co-ordinating testing including the production of test scripts/
plans
・Project delivery and implementation including final sign off
・Maintenance of project register and System enhancements register
Experience / Qualification / Key Skills / Attributes
・Flow chart drawing skill, logical thinking, and change agent
tendency are musts.
・Business process re-engineering experience.
・Project management skills
・An understanding of our products and services is beneficial
・The ability to prioritise and organise both own time and that of a
project team
・Influencing and communications skills
・Self starter/motivator
・Ability to think through issues and sees things to resolution
・Commitment and desire to make things happen
・ABC/ABM experience or operational risk management experience in
financial industry and/or statistical background preferred.
