The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for managing and delivering for multiple client accounts. All projects under the oversight of the SPM must be delivered on time, on specification, on budget and supply completed documentation. The SPM will ensure that all client projects are delivered within the delivery process from kick-off to post mortem, working with their Project Management staff, the client and Account Management to clarify program design and details. The ideal candidate will have both online and traditional Direct Marketing agency experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages team operations, including goal setting, functional management reviews, and ensures that all goals and objectives are well understood by all members of the team
- Works with multi-functional team defining the overall scope of a project
- Ensures that sound implementation plans are developed by each team member and that each plan meets the project strategy while considering both budget and timing.
- Coordinates with other team members to monitor ongoing progress and make adjustments when required or requested by senior staff
- Pro-actively identifies project issues/problems, assists in issue/problem resolution and provides project updates
- Manages and ensures compliance with the project lifecycle for each engagement from inception to completion
- Provides concise and appropriate feedback on project inputs, outputs, internal processes, and quality assurance measures to the appropriate functional groups.
- Serves as a client-facing role supporting the business objectives and delivery.
- Maintains a solid understanding of performance metrics, creative development, and cross channel technology implementation.
- Comprehensive understanding of the latest trends in direct marketing practices
- Familiarity with full scope management including strategy, design and implementation of projects.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Approves project estimates, scopes, and timelines for projects up to the level designated by the Project Office Director and inline with corporate financial approvals
- May need to develop and manage estimates, scopes and timelines for projects.
- Tracks ongoing costs throughout project lifecycle, and reconciles estimates to actuals on all projects.
- Develops and ensures potential mitigation strategies are implemented to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Ensures all QA has been performed and approves completeness of project deliverables
- Ensures that project resource allocation are accurate and in line with project estimated budgets
- Escalates and outlines business investment opportunities for the Account team and senior management for client engagements
- Manages internal and client expectations as it relates to project scope
DOCUMENTATION:
- Gathers technical and other specifications from client and/or account management and/or discipline lead
- Manages the issue logging and management process over the life of an engagement
- Writes Statement of Work documents, specification documents, and develops project plans
- Provides ongoing feedback and involvement in ongoing operational improvement activities
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- BS / BA Degree
- Minimum requirements include 5-8 years professional work experience. At least 4 in IT Data Management and/or Interactive Web Development projects.
- Previous experience managing project management team members
- Proven track record with budget/schedule development
- Ability to manage projects in a fully competent, autonomous manner from initiation through completion; concentration in an online/offline marketing or technology environment
- Solid understanding of performance metrics, creative development, and internet technology implementation.
- Comprehensive understanding of the latest trends in both the traditional and interactive marketing industries including but not limited to customer data analysis, web development, campaign reporting
- Solid PC skills and Microsoft software (MS Project , Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)
- Familiarity with full scope account management including strategy, design and implementation of projects.
- PMI Certification a Plus
