Job Description

Our client, a large oil and gas exploration and development company with operations throughout the world, is looking for a foreign Legal Counsel to be responsible for a wide variety of contracts and other legal issues related to the oil and gas industry.

The role will be focusing primarily on the negotiating, drafting and consideration of a variety of commercial arrangements affecting every aspect of the oil and gas industry in the region and requires substantial autonomous responsibility for complex legal matters requiring the ability to provide commercial solutions to legal issues.

Required Skills

  • Commonwealth admitted lawyer preferred (UK/Australia/New Zealand/Canada etc.), US lawyers will also be considered.
  • Must have 5 - 6 years experience minimum, with some gained within a law firm.
  • Oil & Gas experience would be a big plus, otherwise you must have good corporate/commercial experience with strong contract drafting skills.
  • Native-level English (you do not need to speak any Japanese for this role)
