Job Description

The successful candidate will manage a team of around six developers in Tokyo while maintaining a strong cross-regional relationship with peers and team members in the Asia Pacific region. The team handles multiple responsibilities including application support and projects, as well as high-level client service to the business. It covers a wide range of products, making this a very challenging role with great growth potential.

Typical responsibilities will include:

- Build strong partnership a wide range of stakeholders from the business
- Establish and drive a strategic vision for the platform for Asia. This entails working with the global team to establish an architectural framework
- Build a strong team. Provide guidance and coaching to junior staff
- Provide project management and coordination with other teams to ensure that projects are executed to spec, within budget, and within delivery deadlines
- Provide leadership in crisis situations

Required Skills

- 8+ years experience in the investment banking industry, with 6+ years experience in a high-level technical leadership, shaping strategy and system architectures.
- Proven ability to partner with salespeople and traders, strategists, and as well as other stakeholders such as legal & compliance, operations, and other tech teams.
- Proven experience in managing teams of over 10 people, across different product and functional areas
- At least 3 years experience working in a front-office trading & sales environment; must have track recording working with financial products and markets, and able to learn on-the-job new product knowledge.
- Programming experience in Java, C/C++, or C#
- Experience building server and GUI components
- Experience with release management, version control, and production environment control.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills
