Job Description
This role will entail development and support for reference database, middle office booking system, and order ticketing system.
In this roll, the candidate will:
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the business through direct interactions with end users.
- Work with top technologists in the industry, who have designed and implemented flexible, supportable systems to allow the business to implement key strategic initiatives.
- Have experience in the entire project life-cycle.
-Be exposed to other areas of Equity technology .
- Hands-on development and maintenance for:
Ø EDS - Reference database: Provides JP instrument reference data as well as historical tick data to many trading / risk management systems used by the Equities and Fixed Income businesses. Serves as a data source for global reference database as well global research database. There is a plan to expand coverage to include WM order management system.
Ø MOAP- Middle office booking system: Regional system developed and supported by a team of 8 developers based in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. With MOAP, Japan middle office is able to handle increasing volume and client specific requirements with just 4 people - significantly lower than our competitors. Planned work includes regional rollout to retire legacy cross border booking system, enhancement to automate JP mixed account booking flow, replacement of client confirmation engine, etc.
Ø PTR - Order ticketing system: Receives transaction data from a number trading systems & components in the F2B chains and builds order hierarchy to meet legal order ticketing requirements. Currently in the process of replacing legacy system, and there is a plan to support listed CBs and F&O products.
-Second line production support and Requirement gathering with end users
Required Skills
5+ years of development experience in the investment banking industry, preferably in equities systems
- Experience in developing systems on Linux or Solaris is a must
- Strong SQL (preferably Sybase and/or Oracle) and C++ development skills
- Good scripting and documentation skills
- Good team player with strong communication skills to be able to work with regional teams
- Self starter and quick learner
- Preferably experience in real-time messaging middleware (e.g. TIBCO RV)
- Knowledge of industry standard protocol (e.g. FIX) is preferred
- Japanese language as well as understanding of the Japanese regulatory environment would be helpful
Experience in automated system testing will be a plus
