Job Description

Joining a global team of in-house and consulting brand and PR professionals, and reporting in to the company’s San Francisco headquarters, the director will be instrumental in driving awareness and shaping the reputation of the company brand in Japan and Korea (or non-China Asia), helping the company achieve its business objectives. This person will leverage his/her knowledge of effective communication strategies to assure that the company has a proactive external communications approach to positively influence perceptions. With the personal style to work effectively with different levels of management, both in-country and globally, the director will be equally comfortable and productive working collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities:

·Drive the external communication strategy for non-China Asia in context of global program in coordination and collaboration with the global communications and marketing team and managing officer.
·Working effectively with regional team to develop and drive awareness of the brand and public relations, and the global marketing and communication initiatives.
·As part of a global team, collaborate on implementing strategic initiatives to promote the company’s thought leadership, especially in supply chain and sustainability (and other topics relevant to particular audience).
·Working with global web team, oversee non-China Asia’s web-marketing initiatives and amb.com build out and ongoing refresh, translations and maintenance.
·Maintain consistent message across all mediums, including media, presentations and speaking engagements. Develop and update relevant talking points.
·Managing media/editorial placements, general business announcements, and other supporting material including PowerPoint presentations, speeches, web and print collateral.
·Manage non-China Asia-based public relations consultants.
·Develop strong, ongoing relationships with target press. Responsible for securing coverage in target media on an ongoing basis.
·Organize media events; prepare talking points; accompany management; follow-up; manage media database.
·Evaluate relevance and orchestrate participation in industry events including tradeshows, relevant speaking engagements and sponsorships—all directed toward promoting and elevating the company brand.
·Seek opportunities to support local team’s customer development programs with a focus on expanding the company’s global visibility.
·Actively manage a budget.

Qualifications:

·Strong marketing and PR experience with a minimum of 5 years in (preferably B-to-B) marketing and public relations, including holding position as driver of strategic communication initiatives with proven results.
·Media relation skills including top-tier business publications, trade and broadcast.
·While direct real estate industry experience is a plus, the candidate must have track record with multi-country/language firm, ideally publicly traded.
·Demonstrated ability to contribute at both a strategic and operational level; out-of-the-box creative thinking, as well as strong critical and analytical skills. With a voracious “get-it-done” attitude, the director will be eager to roll up sleeves and take responsibility from start to finish of any project.
·Willing to work evenings and occasionally weekends. Able to travel.
·Excellent written and oral communication skills - Japanese and English. Korean a plus.
·Strong intellect; someone with a combination of analytical reasoning, creativity, conceptual ability and judgment. Able to deal with multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously; equally comfortable working at the tactical level as at strategic level.
·Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, and to media and external constituents across multiply Asian countries.
·Results driven; Energetic, resourceful and hands-on individual with a strong service orientation. Focus on continuing improvement in the organization and PR program.
·Bachelor degree or equivalent in communication or marketing.
