Job Roles and Responsibilities include: 1. Managing staff. Responsibility for hiring, organization, training and performance management of JLS staff. 2. Editing. Oversee the JLS copy flow to ensure it is relevant, timely and accurate, and meets client standards. Duties will include: a) Using news judgment to assess news priorities, and providing direction and advice to staff. b) Assigning stories and editing work to staff. c) Editing copy. 3. News Judgment. Through the use of various media maintain a good understanding and keep abreast of developments in regional and global markets. Maintain a strong understanding of political, business and economic news to make sound decisions when faced with questions of news worth and prioritization, and to help develop story ideas. 4. Coordination with Sales. Work with the sales director to ensure the JLS output meets customer needs and responds to requests from sales.

1. Sell bulk subscriptions to first class hotels, airlines for in-flight, airport lounge, private clubs, conferences and other creative venues copies within specified price guidelines 2. Monitor sub agents quarterly and motivate them through supporting their promotional activities 3. Work with the regional team (and sometimes global team) to reach regional target through bulk and sponsorship deals 4. Project manage regional team for sponsorship of large events 5. Work with the Regional Conference Manager to identify main conferences, seminars and exhibitions and help set-up deals. 6. Work closely with Academic Affairs Manager to find schools appropriate for programs and products. Selectively source sponsorship for school related programs.
