Audit and Risk Review (ARR) provides independent assessments of the company’s risk and control environment. Using ARR’s Credit Risk Review methodology, the Corporate Credit teams analyze the key risks of all Corporate and Commercial Banking businesses and their credit support functions, develop audit coverage strategies, execute reviews and conduct ongoing monitoring of these businesses to evaluate the control environment.

Job Responsibilities:
-Be the senior face for the Corporate Credit team in Japan, working closely with the Japan Chief Auditor and the Asia Corporate Credit Program Director
-Perform ongoing Business Monitoring of the Japan Corporate Credit entities to proactively surface existing and emerging risks, evaluate the effectiveness of corresponding key controls and provide appropriate feedback and recommendations to the Business between cycled reviews.
-Plan and Lead Corporate Credit reviews in Japan, as well as participate on other Corporate Credit reviews in Asia and globally, as a full time member of the Asia Corporate Credit team. These reviews typically involve the management of large teams and interface with senior management.
-Build a thorough understanding of the risk and control fundamentals of the Businesses assigned to you as Lead Reviewer through a close working relationship with Line management.

Risk Management

-Undertake assessments of business unit exposures, identify risk, define the key risk indicators, evaluate their potential impact and review the strengths and weaknesses of the company’s existing controls
-Implement functional risk assessment and report to the management

-Develop approval procedures and guidelines on risk limits in investment management or in transactions, etc.

-Involve in evaluation of new products and investment management process from a risk management perspective

-Make sure the investment and investment management oversight function work appropriately

- Involve in evaluation of outside service providers including due-diligence on delegated investment managers, etc.

- Investigate, resolve and document operating errors and working with the business to improve process and procedure

-Provide counsel and training to business unit managers on risk management issues and evaluate business practices

-Involve in internal audit processes including external risk management/process audits, such as SAS70, SOX, etc.

-Continue to monitor control compliance and the prevalent risk environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels
