Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer at the headquarters in the USA, the Japan Controller has ultimate responsibility for maintaining a strong internal control environment.


Expectations

&amp;middot;	Lead the local implementation of company-wide initiatives in financial areas and support initiatives in other disciplines as needed.
&amp;middot;	Manage the internal control environment (procedures, internal and external audits).
&amp;middot;	Directly responsible for controls within assigned areas such as revenue recognition, pricing, incentives, dealer commissions and promotional/departmental spending.
&amp;middot;	In partnership with the Financial Services team; also responsible for legal entity and transaction processing (i.e. A/R, A/P, T&amp;E) control environment.
&amp;middot;	Integral member (as well as leader) of the business analysis function
&amp;middot;	Identify and provide key financial information, metrics and analysis to local and global management teams in a timely and accurate manner 
&amp;middot;	Lead the regular financial forecast process.
&amp;middot;	Monitor operational performance and proactively identify opportunities for operational/financial improvement 
&amp;middot;	Ensure application of the company’s accounting and management principles, and monitor them in coordination with the financial results and risk management philosophy.


Ideal Candidate Characteristics

&amp;middot;	Strong leadership and experience in developing and managing a tight-knit and diverse team 
&amp;middot;	Highest ethical standards
&amp;middot;	Solid experience in a similar position at a foreign-based company or companies 
&amp;middot;	Proven expertise in financial management
&amp;middot;	Knowledge of U.S. GAAP is required and U.S. CPA certification is preferred
