	<description>PRIMARY OBJECTIVE 
 
Provide second-level support to all back-office IT equipment such as servers, desktop and laptop PCs, intranet, e-mail and Network equipments and Help-Desk requests.  Maintain systems operation and availability in line with the standards and expectations of the business. Manage the Standard Operating Environment for the organisation in line with the business requirements of each department. 
 
 
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following: 
 
System Operation 
&amp;middot; Responsibility for the day to day operation of IT systems in the Japan office.
&amp;middot;Responsible for the management of IT servers including:
&amp;middot;Maintaining system availability
&amp;middot;Capacity management of IT systems to support business requirements
&amp;middot;System backup and disaster recovery management.
&amp;middot;Liaise with global systems administrators to implement and support global IT initiatives.
&amp;middot;Develop/implement Enterprise (Corporate) security procedure/policy
 
Server Support
&amp;middot;Co-ordination with Systems Administrator or Production Systems team on planned system changes and outages.
&amp;middot;Provide 1st and 2nd level support after hours as per the regional after hour’s call-out support model.

LAN, Workstation &amp; Peripheral Support

&amp;middot;Manage software and platform upgrades and changes.
&amp;middot;Provide 2nd level support for hardware and software issues.
&amp;middot;Perform patch management on servers and workstations in line with global patch management process.
&amp;middot;Manage the resolution of issues escalated from first level support engineers..
&amp;middot; Oversee procurement from the local suppliers.

Change Management
&amp;middot;Perform testing and sign-off of planned system changes.
&amp;middot;Carry out hardware and software upgrades of each system as required, during maintenance window as per instructions from Change Management.
 
Network Support
&amp;middot; Provide support and administration of Network environment including the network relating to company’s products.
&amp;middot;Liaise with Other region’s Network Engineer in escalation, management and resolution of issue
&amp;middot;Provide solution with root cause of the network problem and do proactive action to prevent from same problem.
 
Training
&amp;middot; Carry out Technology Transfer to other operations &amp; sales staff
&amp;middot; Develop an understanding of all new features and releases prior to release
&amp;middot;Provide mentoring to junior members of the IT team.
