Plan and implement effective marketing projects to meet the strategic objectives of the Japan Academic & Government business market group.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Create and manage project planning documents, campaign budgets and return on investment information.
2. Plan and implement marketing projects, within agreed deadlines and allocated promotional budgets, working closely with marketing project managers, internal designers and copywriters, as well as external agencies.
3. Utilize all elements of the marketing mix (including; direct marketing, advertising, event promotions, collateral development, Web development and e-marketing) to support marketing strategies (including; sales support; direct revenue generation; lead generation; retention; product launches/upgrades; creating brand awareness and customer relationship management).
4. Communicate strategic perspectives to in house designers and copywriters as well as external agencies.
5. Ensure consistency and quality of messaging and accurate positioning for all projects.
6. Analyze and measure project effectiveness, providing feedback to Marketing Services Manager, Japan and SBU Marketing Managers about project effectiveness and new opportunities or gaps.
7. Ensure use of appropriate systems (CRM, contact management etc.) to manage, track and report on projects, and provide sales with accurate information about a specific project generating leads.
8. Web content development In liaison with the Web Editor ensure that updated information about products and services are posted on all Web Sites.
9. Take responsibility for developing Thomson Scientific and competitor product knowledge, and marketing skills, and work with the Director, Marketing - Asia Pacific to address training needs.
10. Manage marketing programs at an international and localised level.
11. Work with Marketing Services Manager, Japan to set and review personal objectives on a regular basis.

スキル・資格

Skills/Experience

・ Knowledge of business-to-business marketing ideally within the Academic & Government industries.
・ Experienced with direct marketing, Web marketing, advertising, collateral production, event support.
・ At least 5 years experience of preparing marketing plans, working to budget and time deadlines, and reporting ROI.
・ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
・ Good problem solving skills and cost management skills.
・ Can set priorities and be flexible in changing environment. Able to adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups.
・ Strong project management skills and strength in managing multiple projects/deadlines.
・ Creativity and imagination.
・ Independent and diligent.
・ Ability to travel as needed.
・ Experienced in using Sales Force.com, ExactTarget and Morello Web content management systems is advantageous.


Qualifications

A degree or equivalent
A professional marketing qualification an advantage
Good command of English and Japanese
