Main Duties / Responsibilities
Setting, monitoring and governance of operations service levels for the priority Clients.
Responsible for developing a client service strategy to improve and maintain the company’s position within the client’s rankings.
Managing the delivery of Client Service across all Japan Securities Tokyo priority clients. The priority client management business of DB has plans for considerable growth in the next few years and this role needs to continuously improve service levels in an ever-expanding client base. Services provided includes Client Valuations, collateral, confirmations, and settlements/clearance, and safekeeping and the client statement. .
Ensure that all day to day priority Client related issues, queries, and requests are addressed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner and ensuring that preventative measures are taken to avoid recurrences.
Responsible for maintaining the client issues log and analysing the key client issues and solutions cross TMG and ICG as well
Responsible for producing monthly / regular MIS based on the client issues log for senior management
Main point of escalation for Business Units, Support Teams and priority Clients for priority Clients’ issues.
Arranging client reviews/meeting and entertainment at appropriate levels for key clients in the Japan.
Documenting and circulating client meeting notes and managing all issues which are highlighted in the client meetings, and where necessary, coordinating the implementation of system / process improvements and participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Developing close relationships with key regional/global Operations service providers to ensure the Japan agenda is understood and prioritised for system improvement.
Managing the internal and Client Scorecard / Benchmarking initiatives with an overall aim to improve operational efficiency and Client Service levels.
Working with London based Client Service team to ensure best practice is adopted.
Developing relationships with all senior sales heads and operational heads in Japan to ensure all daily processing and ongoing projects are closely aligned to the business and client needs.
Cross coverage with the existing Asia Pacific priority Clients Relationship Managers whenever necessary.
Anticipated background - at least 7+ years within a similar / comparable banking environment
Minimal qualification criteria - likely to be educated to degree level and have appropriate industry qualifications
Broad range of product/functional flow understanding for Securities business Operations
Excellent problem solving skills
Highly analytical and objective, with an ability to think “out the box”.
Ability to communicate at senior levels (written reports, formal correspondence, presentations, etc)
Language skills such as Japanese and a very good command of English.
Must have previously worked in Operations in an investment bank.
Ability to identify, scope and deliver change projects
Ability to deliver and maintain a Client Scorecard initiative
