The ideal candidate requires:
1. absolute fluency in Japanese plus excellent written and spoken
English.

2. The candidate will possess either an MSc or PhD in Economics,
with strong quantitative and communication skills, plus a keen interest in analysing economic activity and inflation from a national, applied macroeconomics, perspective.

3. The position, open immediately, offers a unique opportunity to play an influential role within a leading and globally integrated research team, working for one of the world’s pre-eminent investment banks.

The job will entail analysing and forecasting macroeconomic time series for the Japanese economy (such as GDP, CPI inflation, industrial output), in order to appraise the implications of these for fixed income markets.

The position will include extensive training both in Tokyo and on the clients’Graduate Training Programme in London.
