Job Overview

The Windows Desktop Team provides on-site support 8:00 ~ 18:00 Monday to Friday for all employees in Tokyo mainly to all Investment Management users, and after hours support via on-call, and occasionally weekend work to complete regular or emergency maintenance.
Key Responsibilities (include details of type of industry / clients to support, Type of fund / trades to manage, type of systems / applications to support)

To provide first level support to Investment staff for their Windows-based hardware and software needs.
To configure/rollout Fidelity standard Japanese / English PC Desktop and Notebook PCs.
To manage Symantec Anti Virus software in Desktop PC.
To secure and control Desktop PC in terms of Operating System, standard applications and Virus protection.
To manage to install and support generic and business-specific applications and Market Data Systems.
To build package and distribute software by Altiris.
To backup Windows Server Administrator.
To evaluate software and hardware.
To manage and perform Move/Add/Change tasks for PCs and Printers.
To trouble-shoot problems with PCs, Printers, Standard Applications (like MS Office, Market Data)
To do VPN support for remote access.
To communicate with technical staff in UK/US/Hong Kong to support business applications. This includes some conference calls, frequently scheduled in early morning/late night due to global involvement.
To document implementation plan and task for local projects.
To secure and control Windows PCs based on the security compliant level.
To communicate with 3rd Party vendors.
To participate and help planning for semi-annual Disaster Recovery testing.

Must be fluent in English/Japanese Languages (speaking, reading and writing).
Experience on Windows Host Scripting language and the like.
Experience on Windows 2000 or XP PC Build. ( Software installation )
Experience on supporting Microsoft Exchange, SMS or Altiris.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Administration or Supporting of Server in Active Directory environment.
Good knowledge of Network (TCP/IP) and PC hardware/software.
Good team player with interpersonal skills.
Work and perform with global team with good communication skills.
Problem determination & resolution skills.
Experience on supporting of Market Data system. (e.g. Bloomberg, Quick)
Experience on Desktop image build creation. (e.g. Ghost, Drive Image)
Experience to use Backup software. (e.g. Arcserve, Backupexec)
Takes leadership and advises on local technical direction for global projects.
