The main focus for the role is to develop, deploy and provide support for IT strategic systems used by the FI Derivatives department. The main systems provide trading, pricing and risk management functionality.

A number of these systems are deployed on a global basis and will involve working closely with development and support teams in Singapore, London and New York. Others are locally developed in close conjunction with the Derivatives business and local and global quant and modelling teams.

Currently, the main focus of the Tokyo DIT team is the development and deployment of a new integrated pricing, booking and portfolio management system built on C#. This new platform will initially be rolled out to the flow and exotics desks in Tokyo and then regionally.

With proposed large growth of the FID trading in Tokyo there it is an exciting time to be in this bank in Japan.

Support for vanilla products is being built in but work to support more complex exotics products is also in progress. There is a great deal of work to do building in various plugins and components, such as trade and market data screens.

There is a close working relationship and frequent communication between the quant, FO and IT teams.

The Derivatives area comprises a Rates, Credit Derivatives and Exotics desks trading a wide range of Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Bonds, FX, Listed Derivatives and Exotic/Structured products.

Mandatory
* Excellent written and spoken English
* 3 + years development experience
* Experience of working with trading systems
* Business analysis and/or project management experience
* Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to quickly grasp new concepts
* At least 3 years experience with IR and Credit Derivative products.
* C# / Excel VBA / VB.
* Windows NT / 2000 and Unix (solaris) scripting
* Desire to succeed in an highly competitive environment
* Ability to work independently/effectively on high profile projects

Desirable
* Japanese written and spoken
* Strong client relationship skills with a strong customer service-oriented attitude
* Educated to degree level
* Sybase and Oracle
* C++ / Excel-VBA / Java / HTML / XML / XSLT / ASP / PERL
