The person will be directly responsible for the production at Yamanashi. Responsibility will include all aspects of the fabrication, assembly and testing of Endress+Hauser Wetzer instruments produced and/or distributed from Yamanashi. He or she will receive a high level of support from Wetzer in Germany and be integrated into a small international team responsible for our Japanese operations.
Initially the person will need to gain hands on experience by producing the devices. As the production volume rises the position will include all aspects of employee management including: selection, administration and support of the production personnel.
The following is a list of duties that will be essential in this position. Any other tasks required to ensure the effective running of the work cell would also be a part of the position specification even if not specifically listed below.

1.1. PRODUCTION
Scheduling, coordination & balancing of all work efforts (assembly, testing, packaging, etc.) as required to produce and deliver Wetzer products in the Japanese market on time and in the quality our customers expect.

1.2. LOGISTICS
Ensure availability of raw and semi-finished material.
Interface with Nesselwang, Germany and external suppliers.
Stock control

1.3. PRODUCTION PLANNING
Prepare and update work plans and parts lists.
Set up the production data in SAP

1.4. COORDINATION
Interface with all other business areas in Japan and in Germany to ensure a stable and efficient production and improve the processes.
Contact person for employees in Nesselwang in all matters concerning the production in Yamanashi.

1.5. TRANSFERS
Coordinate the Japanese side of the transfer of new products to Yamanashi.
Implement and document changes.


1.6. OPTIMISE THE PROCESSES
Define and improve the production and logistics.
Regularly verify the equipment in the work cell and solve and coordinate any problems arising.
Identify systematic problems and coordinate their solution.

1.7. DOCUMENTATION
Based on the central documentation from Nesselwang, create the documentation necessary for the work cell in Yamanashi.
Suggest improvements in all documentation

1.8. EQUIPMENT
In cooperation with Nesselwang plan the required production and storage space. Assist in the definition of production equipment. Suggest local suppliers.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree and 3-5 years related experience or equivalent training.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-Ability to read basic blue prints and operate various hand and power tools. Should be capable to enter receiving and shipping information into an EDP System.
- Computer skills are required including word processing and spreadsheets. Experience with Microsoft Office Products, Lotus Notes, and SAP is considered a plus.
- Good English verbal and written skills.
