· Provide Application support and development to the Active Equity team. Take local ownership (jointly with team-mate) for all Active Equity technology issues and requests in Japan.
· Be part of two-man local team providing local point of contact for all JEA application issues and requests.
· Liaise closely with global technology team to provide seamless, integrated application support and
development.
· Represent JEA business interests in all business-facing and internal technology meetings and planning sessions
· Deep understanding of Japan Active Equity teams’ business, their place in the local and global organization, and the systems and technology infrastructure that support them.
· Development and support of local systems to support Japan Active Equity business. Development primarily in VB and Java with some work in VBA required to maintain legacy systems.
· Liaison with local business representatives as well as global Technology personnel and the firm at large, to represent the interests of and promote the fulfillment of the requests of the local JEA business.

· Demonstrable, current experience in Java, Visual Basic v6 or .NET), Sybase and/or Oracle plus Perl scripting (Experience in support and maintenance of Excel / VBA macros a plus)
· Demonstrable, current experience in UNIX application development and familiarity with UNIX operating system, shell etc.
· Experience managing user expectations, and working with end users in the asset management industry to arrive at clear requirements statements and produce measurable, executable plans for delivering those requirements
· A minimum of 5 years experience in the financial services industry (securities, asset management etc.), preferably with some of that time in Japan
