The Network Operations Engineer role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and security of Japan’s LANs, MAN, wide-area and wireless networks. The Network Operations Engineer will install, monitor, maintain, optimize and troubleshoot network hardware, IOS, management software and other components. This individual will also analyze and resolve hardware, IOS software and application problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. As part of a global team, the individual will design, deploy and operate the network, according to global standards as well as participate in standards development. Some support of Asia-wide systems in Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong may also be required.

Qualifications
* University degree in computer science or electrical engineering. Certifications such as CCNA are desired.
* Bi-lingual English and Japanese
* Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design, implementation, and support.

* Technical expertise in:
- Cisco IOS and CATos operating systems.
- Transport, naming, and management protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP)
- Routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
- Remote Access and Security (VPN Concentrators, PIX and Juniper Firewalls)
- Layer 2 mechanisms such as spanning-tree
- Layer 3 mechanisms such as QOS, filtering, and access-lists
- High Availability design (route failover, NIC failover, advanced L7 health checking)
- QOS for VoIP solutions
- Network designs for multi-site disaster recovery solutions
- VLAN design
- Load balancers such as the CISCO CSS
- Knowledge of process frameworks such as MSF and ITIL
