The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking complex system level issues related to UMTS/HSDPA handhelds. The person will be required to influence software changes based on analysis of these problems. You will write and carryout test plans to verify the wireless protocols features/functions for wireless handhelds, as well as conduct end-to-end system level testing. You will be required to travel occasionally and establish good customer relations. You will generate test reports and follow ups on issues found during testing, analyze logs and find the root cause of the problem. You will also participate in the testing with a wireless carrier and work with them to launch the service, mentor junior staff, attend meetings, handle presentations and update the group members whenever required. You will also influence the wireless standards related to your job activities and participate in advanced research projects in your area.

Bachelors degree in Electrical, Computer, Electronics Engineering OR Computer Science OR Related disciplines.
Must have extensive experience (at least 3 years) with 3G protocol stack implementation.
Experience with 2G is preferable but not essential.
Good knowledge of 3GPP.
System Design experience required with excellent understanding of mobile phones software and hardware architecture.
Hands on experience with test tools and equipment.
Must have excellent problem resolving skills.
Good communication (oral and written) skills.
Ability to work in an independent and team environment.
Highly self motivated.
Ability to travel internationally under short notice is a definite asset
