Principal responsibility
・ Develop a comprehensive strategy for growing advertising, sponsorship, and affiliate revenue by leveraging the existing and expanding new media platforms (PC & Mobile)
・ Lead the execution of this strategy from a sales and operational perspective
Detailed responsibilities (List of responsibilities)
<Strategy & Internal Communication>
- This person will drive the key decisions regarding sales channel approach, operational and organization structure, & ad product development/optimization
- This person will be responsible for developing annual sales targets and will be responsible for monthly forecasting with Finance
- This person will work closely with Production, Marketing and Technology Teams in order to grow inventory and make sure our ad products are in sync with our sales targets
- This person will communicate cross border with colleagues in the U.S. & the U.K. in order to share best practices
<External Sales Efforts>
- This person will be expected to mentor team members on sales techniques as well as client development and management
- This person will be expected when appropriate to conduct sales efforts himself/herself to potential clients, particularly for larger opportunities with existing partners, and act as the relationship manager
- This person will also be expected to look for new advertiser/sponsor candidates based upon industry trends, platform & brand synergies, and other relevant factors
- This person will also oversee and develop our ongoing relationships with key third party sales channels (Ad Agencies, Online Reps)
<Team Management>
- This person will be responsible for building the Media Service Team into a highly sales oriented, client facing organization with strong expertise in all operational aspects of the ad sales business (from inventory analysis to new product development)
- This person will serve as both leader and mentor, providing guidance and support to all team members
Qualifications & experience:
This position requires 5 years plus experience in the advertising sales field and a clear understanding of the Japanese Online & Mobile ad industry. He/she needs to be a flexible thinker with excellent communication skills. Moreover, this position requires effective general business management and presentation skills. Experience in sales strategy development and client management required.
