A global market leader is seeking a Legal Manager for its Tokyo office. The role will require a close working relationship with the General Counsel of Japan in providing legal and compliance advice on a wide variety of business issues.

Specific responsibilities of this position include the following

- Draft and review contracts and other documentation
- Negotiate contracts
- Provide advice for various legal issues in labor, IP, regulatory matters, commercial business, joint ventures among others
- Maintain close relationships with third parties (agents and partner vendors), conduct due diligence and provide compliance training on a regular basis
- Travel to the remaining region for customer meetings and negotiations
- Conduct compliance investigations
- Advise the management team and other functions transaction methods and other strategic initiatives
- Assist The General Counsel in Japan for corporate initiatives including compliance reviews

スキル・資格

- Minimum 6-7 years experience with significant law firm experience.
- Substantial experience in reviewing and documenting contracts involving the sale and purchase of goods and service transactions.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills; superior analytical ability; a strong general commercial law background
- Excellent interpersonal skills; energy; the ability to handle multiple inquiries and assignments in a time pressured environment; and ability to develop process-driven solutions to recurring issues.

- Excellent academic record.
- Japanese/US/UK admission preferred.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Fluency in written and spoken Japanese.
- Computer literate.
