・ Support the business operations and commercial transactions in Japan
・ Review and draft distribution agreements, product development agreements and other routine contracts
・ Work with HR, PR, regulatory and other functions in claim handling, litigation and other disputes.
・ Act as a member of a special team for M&A, divestiture, major licensing or other extraordinary transaction
・ Work closely with senior members of the local law group and, where possible, cooperate with the other attorneys
・ Train and educate business customers on core policies and codes of conduct and critical legislation
・ Be a key player together with the other attorneys in our ongoing training

・ At least 3 to 8 years of relevant experience acquired in a first-rate international law firm and/or in the legal department of a dynamic and international corporation
・ Knowledge of Japanese language and business culture is mandatory. In addition. knowledge and practical experience in either M&A and other transactional work or health care compliance work will be an asset.
・ Excellent academic credentials, preferably including a J.D. or other law degree.
・ Familiarity with the legal environment and culture in the U.S. or in one or more jurisdictions of major European countries
・ Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to perform well in a multicultural environment.
・ Able to integrate easily on the basis of a highly developed, open and practical communication style
・ Assertive and able to play an active role as a partner to the business team and as negotiator; ability to make difficult decisions and stand behind them.
・ Positive thinker with a focus on results; careful and precise in drafting contracts and other documents; acting as guardian of legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
