Eire Systems, a leading IT and Project Management Consulting firm, is looking for a Database Developer to work with its clients in the financial industry.

This is a wide-ranging position, with many opportunities for interacting with many different systems used within financial securities institutions. Candidates should be creative thinkers who enjoy developing new solutions.

Job Responsibilities (i.e. key task profile, managerial responsibilities etc.):
- Participating in analysis, design and development of new functionality for the global application
- Supporting the live application in the production environment
- Investigating and fixing bugs
- Communication with local users to gather requirements and analyze/address issues
- Interact with other technology groups as needed
- Liaising between local users and other regional teams
- Gain business knowledge and learn the business processes so as to quickly offer the best technical solution

Location/Environment:
The candidate will work in the Tokyo region. The Candidate should be comfortable working without constant supervision and be able to identify and prioritize tasks.

Candidates should be based in Japan, available for interview, and be able to start this position quickly.

Mandatory technical skills and years of experience:
- RDBMS experience required, Sybase preferable
- Strong programming skills with emphasis on SQL and stored procedures
- Unix, Shell scripts

Preferred Technical Skills:
- Java development experience
- Exposure to any or all of the following: Tibco, BEA Weblogic, ETL tools and Business Objects


Knowledge, Skill, Others:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full SDLC experience
- Be well presented, confident with strong communication skills with English fluency
- Japanese spoken and written communication skills advantageous
