As a member of a cross-functional design team at Apple, you will help to create the next generation of the world’s finest iPods, iPhones and accessories. As a Japan-based coatings engineer, you will focus primarily on the setup and development of new painting/coating processes utilizing cutting-edge Japanese technologies into Apple products. You will work closely with the Cupertino-based Product Design and Industrial Design teams to help define clear development paths for Apple’s world-class supply base. You will also interface with the Operations team extensively as new technologies scale up for mass production at Apple’s existing Chinese and Japanese manufacturing base. Heavy domestic travel in Japan, and regular trips to China & Cupertino, California are to be expected

日本を拠点ととしたコーティングエンジニアとして、新規製品開発における、表面処理、コーティング、塗装生産工程の立ち上げを担当して頂きます

- Deep familiarity with current painting processes of consumer electronics
- Must be capable of taking leadership in directing OEMs to develop new processes
- Native or business-level Japanese is a must, business-level English preferred (flexible
depending on skill set)
- Excellent communication skills (not just verbal, but visual and email-based
communication)
- Flexibility and creativity; an independent thinker
- Position will require significant travel (mainly Japan domestic and China)
