Our client’s Legal Department provides legal and policy advice to support client departments for:

The financing of private sector projects in emerging markets;
Project portfolio management (including jeopardy projects and projects in litigation);
The delivery and design of structured finance products, sub-national lending, equity and quasi-equity, public-private partnerships, and carbon finance transactions;
Advising on corporate policy and operational matters.
Legal Counsels assume primary legal responsibility for new and portfolio projects, as well as special operations, technical assistance and advisory services projects. Our client’s lawyers assist in negotiations from the early beginning of the project cycle and are responsible for legal documentation.

This position will be based in Washington, D.C.

You will likely have a Law degree and considerable experience practicing law with a well regarded firm in areas relevant to project and corporate finance. Candidates with excellent interpersonal and client service skills, as well as communication skills in English, complemented by fluency in at least one other major language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, Russian, ?) are highly encouraged to apply. As our client is an international organisation, candidates who are willing to travel globally frequently and on short notice are highly sought after.
