
Actuarial Associates and Consultants work alongside Senior Consultants and Principals in the delivery and execution of client assignments and in the support of business development activities.
Responsibilities include the preparation and delivery of high-quality numerical and technical actuarial analysis and oversight and review of analytical work performed by associate staff in addition to the drafting of reports, letters, presentations and other communications.
The firm is responsive to client needs, which may include the need to meet demanding deadlines. This requires staff to demonstrate flexibility in their work commitment. In return, the firm offers a mutually supportive environment with opportunities to contribute to a range of consulting assignments in Japan and to interact with actuarial professionals around the world.
Associates: actuarial experience in life or property/casualty insurance in Japan.
For property/casualty practice: two to three years career experience. Experience is more important than actuarial exam passes.
For life practice: three to five years career experience, a good exam record, and if an AIAJ, four years or less to become AIAJ.
Consultants (life only): completion of the actuarial examinations (FIAJ) within 6 years or less, with up to five years post-qualification work experience in life insurance in Japan.
